AUSTRALIA OUT OF ASIAN CUP, not as bad as some may say...

AUSTRALIA OUT OF ASIAN CUP, not as bad as some may say...I will be sticking with my COPA AMERICA 2007 template for these type of football tournaments. Mind you having had a good weekend of successful tips does make me feel satisfied in general.
JAPAN defeated Australia 4-3 on penalties after a 0-0 draw at fulltime and both teams still equal after extra time. Playing with only 10 men, Vince Grella’s 75th minute send off added pressure to Australia in the final stages of the match. The concern that is caused by the fact that both times the Socceroo's scored, Japan equalised within 2 minutes is a problem that has existed in the Australian team matches for several years. All that this tournament result shows to me is that Australia is playing teams at their own level of ability and how far off the standard they are to progress on the World stage of football. Graeme Arnold is still the coach and Soccer Australia are still looking for an international coach to manage the national team. This is no surprise and has nothing to do with the performance of Australia or Arnold at the Asian Cup. Again I will make the same point stated previously, 'the media go on with a lot of rubbish' when covering football. Trying to create soap opera drama's out of the sporting team is an irritation and the players really pay no attention to it so the supporters should ignore it as well. Most do, the part-time fans are the only ones who get suckered into believeing this rubbish and responding to it. Japan will struuggle to win the Asian Cup on this performance which shows that they have a problem against quality opponents and in particular European football playing style.
IRAQ Too good for Vietnam 2-0 put out the team that has played well with the home ground advanrage and beyond expectations. Coming up against the Iraq team that have a strength of character that no other team in the Asian Cup can be compared with. The players in this Iraq team are based in Jordan and cannot return home because of the risk of assaination/murder by some of the insurgents in the country. A definite chance of winning the Asian Cup.
Sth KOREA Winning the game 2-4 in a penalty shootout against Iran after a 0-0 draw at full time. Unimpresive victory and to be honest a lucky win that at this level shows that Korea have played at their best to get this far and cannot improve. Luck will not win them the Cup. If you have backed this team to win the tournament start laying off your bet on the other teams, Korea are not going to win it.
SAUDI ARABIA Again with luck, a linesman making an incorrect offside call against Uzbekistan had a goal disallowed. The 2-1 result flattered the Saudi's, Uzbekistan were a more attacking side some close misses with the ball hitting the goal posts lost the game for them. Saudi Arabian players absolutely fell over themselves twice and missed easy chances to seal this game. Instead all this showed me was the Saud have a fragile attitude in the pressure of the moment of scoring. I will say it here this team are chokers.
The coming games will be won by Iraq against Korea and Japan will beat Saudi Arabia.
Iraq v Korea Republic Japan v Saudi Arabia
